Developing countries are those which require the maximum attention. Since these are like growing children, the growth years need attention for them to grow up into successful constituencies. Inadequate care and ignorance can also lead to adverse results. Planning forms the essence of constituencies like these and careful execution forms the need of the hour. Strategic development strategies are required to keep the development of the countries in the upward direction. The question which arises is, should developing countries concentrate on improving industrial skills or should they promote education first.

The answer here is, we need to find the balance between the two factors. Since both the factors are equally important for the growth and development of the country. Education forms the base of what an individual turns out to be. With education one makes a more informed decision about the different aspects of his/her life. Since education incorporates a sense of good and bad in the conscious, an individual is less likely to get influenced without knowing what he/she is getting into. That’s power of education. It forms the root of all the individuals and their progress in future. Education not only imparts knowledge but also cultivates a sense of wrong and right into the individuals. However industries form a separate division in whole.

Industries depict the growth of an economy and a growth of people who are able to be self sufficient and provide for their family members and themselves. Therefore development of industries forms an important aspect of the development of the countries. Hence allocation of funds to industrial development also is necessary. However education makes an individual perform efficiently at his workplace. Makes sure that the work is performed with efficiency thus decreasing the throughput time. With education forming the base of everything and industrialisation forming the base of the development and growth, it’s high time both are given equal attention. With careful research, one would be able to allocate funds to the exactly the right sector, thus helping in the development and progress of the nation. Because it is rightly said, progress has little to with speed, but much to do with the direction.

Healthcare is changing rapidly. It is affected by a variety of different influences, from information technology, to economics, to government policy and regulation, to the changing demographics of society, to the advances in medical research. And all of these things will affect the trends in nursing education as well.

One more obvious trend is the use of computer technology. The use of this technology has increased access to clinical data, and has reduced the amount of time it takes to access the information. All of this has improved the care of patients and led to better outcomes.

Another major trend is the use of the electronic medical record, which replace the traditional paper documentation. Consumers will be much more knowledgeable as well because of access to the internet. And more medical goods and services will be delivered electronically.

Nurses in the 21st century will need to be knowledgeable in the uses of computer technology. Nursing education may involve more distance learning, and make it easier for nurses to continue their professional education. Computer technology will allow nursing students to simulate clinical conditions electronically to help them learn.

Because of globalization, nursing education will have to address the issue of the spread of disease across national boundaries, and deal with emerging disease threats around the world.

Nursing education also will have address the changing economic situation in healthcare. Nurses will need to have an understanding of how to care for patients in ways that improve quality, deal with the complexity of care, and do so in a cost effective way.

Nursing education will more and more have to deal with the impacts of health policy and regulation. As costs go up, state and federal regulations will become more of a factor in healthcare. Along with the regulation, there also will be trends toward moving to less expensive ways to deliver healthcare and to apply market forces to keep down costs.

There is also a trend in nursing education to incorporate more nursing science and research, which are playing much greater roles in nursing practice. Nursing research is providing a scientific model for healthcare. This research deals with how patient behavior affects health, how to manage symptoms of illness, helping patients and their families cope with illness and its treatment.

One trend in nursing education is related to the makeup to the student body itself, which is likely to become older. And schools of nursing have to be ready to deal with the challenges of educating an older student.

Another trend affecting nursing education is the increasing complexity of patient care. Patients in hospitals now are more acutely ill — there are almost as many beds in critical care and other specialty areas now as there are general use beds. Because life expectancy is now longer, there is an increase in the number, severity and length of chronic conditions, which adds to the complexity of the care needed.

The number of students enrolled in free home study courses has increased dramatically in the past ten years. Many of these students are enrolled in programs offered through traditional post secondary colleges and universities. Universities have responded to students’ needs by increasing the course offerings in distance learning programs.

Online universities are new providers of higher education. These institutions are generally a consortium of several degree granting institutions. The credits you acquire may not be transferable to another institution.

If you are taking a few courses for work and don’t plan to continue on for a degree, you may not care if your institution is accredited. However, if your long term goals include a post graduate degree, you may transfer to a traditional university at some point. If this is a possibility, accreditation may be important. There is no denying the fact that among the basic and fundamental human rights of free markets, democracy, and freedom of press, the right to education stands on the top of them all. It is the primary right of every human being on the face of this planet, and the availability of this right differentiates developed nations from undeveloped nations.

It is an obvious fact that the nations who are ahead in education lead the world. At this point of time, it is the West that is ahead in the education domain thus leading the world, where as the Muslim world is lagging behind due to this very reason. The lines below discuss the difference between the Western and Muslim concept of the purpose of education.

The Western purpose of education is primarily weighed in terms of the workforce that is made available to keep the machines running and the economy booming. For West, the ultimate purpose of education is to get higher degrees and consequently to attain better jobs and thus keep the cycle of the economy running. Thus, for West education is all about economy to ensure that the nations remain economically strong and their hold on the world stays strong.

On the other hand, if the Muslim world be analyzed, there is poverty, corruption, injustice, and oppression. All these ills are there because of primarily the Muslim world being educated, however, if the situation be analyzed at a deeper level, the Muslims who do corruption, are unjust, and cause poverty among their respective nations are educated people in general, whether they are politicians, businessmen or bureaucrats. Thus in this case one ponders over the reason why education has not been able to bring any change in such people.

The dilemma of Muslim countries is that they have incorporated Western values in their system, oblivious of the fact that Islam presents the best set of values and principles. This is the reason why Muslim countries are unable to succeed both economically as well as socially. In Islam there are two main purposes of education.

The first purpose of education in Islam is to enlighten people and teach morality to them. Every form of education whether it is online Quran learning,the learning of hadith, or any worldly book must show a set or morality and ethical values. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) stated in one of His hadiths:

-No father has given a greater gift to his children than good moral training.- (Tirmidhi)

This hadith of Prophet (PBUH) shows that Tarbiyah or moral training is an integral part of education. If the children are provided moral training along with worldly education, then when they become politicians they will know they will know how to behave and take care of public, when they become jurists they will know how to be just and never give up to anything false. Above all, morally trained children will grow to become a productive members of the society, where they will work for the wellbeing of the society while ensuring that the members of the society all receive their right and are in best of condition.

The second purpose of education in Islam is the same as of the world today, which is to provide earning to the people, however, in gaining economic benefits from education Islam enforces the concept of earning Halal. Thus, when educating the children the parents must ensure that the children are also educated about the concept of halal and haram. Once the children have the concept of halal, they will know that they have to use their education only in the right ways to earn living. Thus, when one uses the education to earn living in the right way, there will be no corruption or exploitation and the nation will boom.

In short, the concept of the purpose of education in Islam is a bit different compared to the idea of education in West. Therefore, it is imperative for Muslim countries to ensure that they incorporate Islamic values in their education system to ensure better Muslims and better members of the society.
